West Broadway Community Ministry offers many different services to the community like art and knitting groups to chiropractic and reflexology services. Our Drop-in Center is open on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11:30 AM- 3:00 PM. 

Drop-In Info

Our drop-in is open 11:30 AM - 3:00 PM on  Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. A free lunch is served at 12:30 pm. We serve a variety of hot lunches and sandwiches depending on the day. We also have special guests who come to serve lunches on occasion. All are welcome! 

Emergency Food Pantry

Two days worth of groceries may be given out upon request. Resources allow for repeat requests only once every three months. Speak to the WBCM office during drop in hours to inquire about receiving a hamper.

Laundry Services

We have one washer and two dryers. Guests are welcome to use this service free of charge. Appointments are available Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 1:00 and 3:00 pm. Appointments can be made at the WBCM office. 

Telephone Services

We have two telephones available to use during drop-in days. Voice mail is also provided with this service. Stop by our office to ask us how to set up a Connect 2 Voice Mail account. 

Computer Lab

The computer lab is popular. Activities vary from communicating with friends and family via Facebook or e-mail, printing resumes, Internet searches,and just surfing the ‘Net.

Community Mentors

Our mandate at WBCM is to be a resource to individuals and families by providing information, giving support or lending a listening ear, acting as advocates and providing referrals in such areas as housing, Employment & Income Assistance; assisting people to access income, food, and shelter resources. Our office is staffed by Mentors every weekday except Tuesday. Drop by for a visit or chat any day we are open.

Dr. Chris Kluke offers chiropractic services every Friday afternoon free of charge

                                Community Groups

Building Healthy Families

We offer a program through a grant from Healthy Child Manitoba to help support parents who are expecting a baby and/or parents who have a baby under the age of one.

We offer a holistic approach where the social, physical, spiritual and emotional areas of one's life will be touched on.

Free snacks, free childcare, and lots of fun are provided at group sessions. If you are interested, just show up. No registration needed.

Sessions are held on: Thursdays from 12:30 until 2:30 at Crossways, 222 Furby Street in the basement. Topics:Getting Ready For Baby, Nutrition During Pregnancy, Coping With Your Pregnancy, Labour and Delivery, Breastfeeding, Newborn Care, Playtime With Baby, Milestones and Safety, Infant Nutrition, Coping With Stress, Cooking Low-Cost Meals What to Expect: Nutritious Snack, Playtime with Baby, Information on Pregnancy, Babies and Parenting, Child Care, Hands on Cooking,A chance to connect with a nurse and/or nutritionist, and Home Visits

Art Group

There is conversation and laughter! We enjoy sharing ideas and tips with each other and people choose their own agenda. 

Monday mornings at 10:00. 

Knitting Group

A time of building friendships, listening to one another's joys and concerns & learning new skills. 

Thursday mornings 11 am - noon.
